Major health hazard

Human habitation is under continuous assault, particularly from pest species who can't resist the dry, warm environments we create for ourselves.  Vermin such as rats, mice, pigeons and other birds, as well as protected species like bats, all find their way into buildings and set up home.  Over a period of time the filth that accumulates from their droppings and other debris – including themselves - can amount to a major health hazard and clean-up job.

Diseases from droppings

Diseases carried by pigeons, such as psittacosis and by rats such as Weil's disease, are well known, but there are many others.  It is unfortunate that the bat species, which enjoy statutory protection from disturbance, can also be responsible for several serious diseases through their droppings, but fortunately bat problems are relatively rare, compared to those from pigeons and rats.
